January Update

Though the holiday season was balmy in Western North Carolina, we have now settled into the chilly part of the year. We had our first snow at the beginning of the month and are expecting more snow this weekend. Despite the cold weather, brave horseback riders have continued to come out for lessons and we’ve done quite a bit of work behind the scenes to get ready for an exciting year ahead. If you’re reading this you’ve already discovered our new web page where we now have the ability to take donations online and register campers and junior counselors for summer camp. As we continue to work through the transition to a fully functioning non-profit we’ve been exploring the development of an equine therapy program and will continue our “Saturdays at the Farm” Program starting on Saturday, 22 January. We plan to have this program, which gives kids 12-16 the opportunity to come out to the farm for a fun day of being helpful and getting dirty, on a monthly basis throughout 2022 though we’ll take a break during the summer months for camp. We hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season and as always, we’d love to hear your ideas for making Project HNG the best organization it can possibly be. Feel free to contact us anytime at hngfeducation@gmail.com.
